Former Minister of Internal Affairs Skender Hyseni on the 19th anniversary of NATO's military intervention has also commemorated Adem Jasharin and Ibrahim Rugova. “Undoubtedly on a marked day like this, we also remember the work of the founder of state, President Ibrahim Rugova, and all contributors to the greatest national test of the century, [...]
“Undoubtedly on a marked day like this, we also remember the work of the founder of state, President Ibrahim Rugova, and all contributors to the greatest national test of the century, the establishment of the independent and sovereign state of Kosovo. Of course, we remember Adam Yasar with special pillars and the sacrifice of the Jashar family. And we remember and honored all those generations of that country, patriots, warriors and martyrs of the nation who worked and sacrificed for the freedom of the country”, wrote Hyseni in FB.
He says NATO's intervention, and the unprecedented bombings lasting 78 days, were crucial to Serbia's eventual departure from Kosovo.
This was followed by the deployment of a multi-nationalist military force “under NATO command, progressively following Serb forces from our country. So on June 12, 1999, came that day that we had dreamed of for centuries, the day of Kosovo's final liberation. So it is this March 24th, a day when we admire the decisive contribution of the United States of America and its allies. We are eternally grateful to them”, says Hyseni.
It later writes that friendship with the US, with the Western world and with NATO that, with a unique vision, Ibrahim Rugova created.
