Mitrovica municipality inspectors have confiscated and eliminated 1,000kg of meat from two large shopping centres in this town, as meat has lacked declaration.
Mitrovica Insocation Directorate Director Hysni Ahmeti has made known to Kosovo that the meat has been out of line and over the longer term.
According to him, the confiscated amount of meat has been eliminated in the trash depot in Kostovo in Mitrovica, while in terms of product origin, everything leaves open opportunities.
We've been in Viva Fresh, we've encountered meat that has no origin, no documentation, and it's expired... no declaration, no origin, even though it's known that one amount was from Gjakova, the other was import and we don't know where it was imported. According to the inspectors' data, it has been found that this meat doesn't meet the terms of being on the market... After Viva Fresh we've been inspecting the ETC and we've encountered meat that was on sale. I've heard the statements of Viva Fresh representatives that if the meat was in another warehouse, it was expired, they had to be transported to one of their warehouses to do the annihilation, but the whole amount of meat was on sale, it wasn't in their reserve warehouse, but it was on sale. . . There is also the request for the court that we have made. With the chip and all the rest there are 573 kilos of «Viva Fresh and ETC have 500 pounds. In all, it's down to about 10,000 pounds of meat that we've removed from the sale and sent to the trash depot in Kosohovo for the good of the citizens of Mitrovica ... Everything leaves open, but we haven't encountered any documentation that we can document that it was import from Belgium, but we only know that part of the meat was import<62>, Ahmeti said. /
