Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has welcomed the adoption of the Language Law in Macedonia, saying it is a major step towards realising Albanian rights.
Macedonia's Assembly in a tense atmosphere today has adopted the Law for Languages, making Albanian official.
Below, you can read Haradinaj's complete Facebook post:
The adoption of the Law for the Use of Albanian Language by Macedonia's Parliament is the major step of implementing Albanian rights and at the same time respecting civic value in a state with democratic goals.
The law on the use of Albanian is a fulfillment of the Ohrid Agreement obligations and respect for international agreements.
Macedonia's decision advances relations between communities living in this state, promotes its democratic development and opens the country's perspective towards Euro-Atlantic integration. With this decision begins a new era in Macedonia's domestic relations, and also on the journey of the entire region towards the EU.
I hope all of our countrymen in Macedonia for such a great legitimate act that opens their perspective, as well as the Macedonian state for this important step for the entire region.
