The epidemic of the measles common in the Presevo Valley, but there is no hospital

The measles epidemic has spread rapidly in Serbia, affecting even the area of Presevo, inhabited by Albanians. In the absence of a hospital, the health house has been crowded by residents, but authorities have claimed to have taken measures to cope with the influx.

Thousands of people suffer from the disease, and among them the state of emergency has been declared in a portion of them in southern Serbia. The Presevo Albanians are located on both sides and have been declared a affected area. Driton Salihu, director of the House of Health, Presevo: “The measles epidemic in the Presevo area was officially announced on March 6th by the Public Health Institute”. About 40,000 people are infected at Serbia's level. The ministry has appealed to citizens to follow the action instructions. Many wonder if they should. Desaret Murati, doctor: “Vaxing for now on adults does not apply, but applies only to small children”. There is no hospital but a family medicine center where affected patients can lie. Authorities say they have taken steps to cope with the epidemic.
