After the ongoing foot-dragging of the Demarketing Agreement, European integration experts have warned that Kosovo could lose its deadline for this year in terms of visa liberalisation.
According to them, if this condition (demarketing) does not end this month Kosovo can cost another two and a half years of visa shortages, “Zer” writes away.
And although they claim that Kosovo institutions have been too late in this direction, they have announced that if the demarcation is completed next week there is the possibility that liberalisation will be achieved by the end of the year.
However, this process is not completed immediately after the ratification of the demarcation.
Rather, the other condition must be met - fighting crime and corruption already established by the EU. In this case, experts have indicated that several procedures passing through the European Commission, the European Parliament and the EU Council of Ministers must be passed to the visa removal.
