President Bekim Colaku's adviser, Bekim Colak, has said the topic of the upcoming meeting between presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vuciq, will be political issues that connect to finding modalities for reaching the final agreement for normalisation and reconciliation between Kosovo and Serbia.
In this interview given to the newspaper “The new era”, he has estimated, this agreement opens the doors for Euro-Atlantic integration, normalisation and reconciliation in the two countries.
I'm not a mathematician to make calculations about what the probability of reaching such an agreement is. That's not how negotiations work. In any circumstance I am 100 percent convinced that dialogue and normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is the only promotional route for both states”, Colak has declared.
He has also talked about the controversy being made to President Thaci by the opposition for the leadership of dialogue, saying the president's legitimacy to lead this process is originally based on the Constitution and on the legitimacy of the Kosovo Assembly, which has elected him as president.
In this regard, Colak has said that there is no legal space to counter the president in guiding the dialogue.
On the other hand, Kosovo's representation in this process is completely harmonised with the Kosovo Parliament Speaker, the prime minister and all parliamentary parties who are interested in getting involved and giving their contribution to the good of our state”, he has indicated.
Colak has estimated that dialogue is the most important process for the future, so in its final phase all key actors must be involved.
He has said that failing to implement some of the agreements reached cannot question the continuation of the dialogue process and reaching the binding agreement for both countries.
Therefore, it is absurd to question the dialogue and the eventual agreement when it is known that this serves our state and regional stability”, Colak has declared.
