BIK had helped investigate Shefqet Krasniqi, now enjoys his innocence

The Islamic Community of Kosovo has firmly believed in the innocence of the former mosque's great mosque “Mehmet Fatih” in Pristina, Shefqet Krasniqi, so it has welcomed its liberation act.

BIC spokesman Ahmet Sadriu says Shefqet Krasniqi works at the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Pristina and that his departure from the large mosque “Mehmet Fatih” did not concern the charges he faced.

“Shefqet Krasniqi is a regular professor at the Faculty of Islamic Studies. Krasniqi is not currently an imam in the Grand Mosque in Pristina because he has the faculty. He had never left BIC”, Ahmeti said of Periscope.

According to him, BIK has consistently believed in Krasniqi's innocence.

However, by the time investigations were under way against former imam Shefqet Krasniqi, Kosovo's Islamic Community had helped special prosecutor Elez Blakaj, arguing that at least two of Krasniqi's speeches were not in accordance with Islamic Islam or BIX policy.

But later, when the Special Prosecutor had filed an indictment against Krasniqi, BIXU had taken him by his side.

Former imam of the Grand Mosque “Mehmet Fatih” in Pristina, Shefqet Krasniqi has been declared innocent today by the Pristina Foundation Court. Four years after the arrest and destruction of the trial process, Krasniqi was acquitted of three prosecution points, which he was accused of by the Kosovo Special Prosecutor. Likewise, according to the indictment Krasniqi has singled out several religious groups as enemies of Muslims -- promoting and spreading hatred, division and failure to resist other religious groups, which also live in the Republic of Kosovo.
