Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini has declared that the strike by Trepca miners 29 years ago has made a widespread turn against Serbia's aggression.
Through his official Facebook account, Wessel has reminded the miners' message that Kosovo is not subject and the road to independence is irreversible.
Those first comments by the Parliament took place on the 29th anniversary of hunger strikes held by miners to protect Kosovo from Slobodan Milosevic's regime.
At the time, about 1,000 miners had gone on strike.
This is his full status:
Today we remember and honor the historic strike of the February 1989 Trepca miners. 29 years ago, the sound of their protest, from the depths of Kosovo's land, turned into widespread movements against Serbia's aggression. The miners' message was crucial: Kosovo will not be subject at any price; freedom, independence path is irreversible
