polar bears to extinction as a result of global warming (Video)

We are used to seeing abundant bears in the Arctic, but they have begun to disappear as a result of global warming and other factors that endanger their existence. The polar bear is being lost every day, according to biologists for wildlife from the U.S. Geological Study Anthony Pagano.
Exhausted by food shortages, they travel long roads more often than usual, described in the study published Thursday in a scientific article, reports The New York Times “, the Periscope broadcast.
But since global warming makes the sea ice smaller, bears must seek farther away from food and the more they require, the fat they burn up by putting them at risk for hunger.
“Most of these bears travel more than 250km over an 11-day period, so they can cover a very long distance for a short time,” said Pagano.
The polar bears are mostly lonely creatures outside the mating season, the season when women house their cubs, and the city of Churchill, Manitoba, where they are held until the end of summer while waiting for the return of the winter sea ice.
In this study, Pagano and his colleagues placed video cameras in collars equipped with GPS to nine women from Alaska in the Beaufort Sea. Researchers took helicopters to find the bears, calmed them down to put on collars, and took blood samples. Eight to 11 days later they reiterated the task of recovering video cameras and getting more measurements./Periscopi/
