Kosovo state dependent on trade

With CEFTA countries alone, the Republic of Kosovo has so far imported 6.42 billion euros, while exporting 842.55m euros, Olgraph writes.
Foreign trade in Kosovo has scored the highest trade deficit for 8.5 per cent in December 2017 compared to the same period of the previous year, estimated at monetary value, has a 20.9m-euro increase, while export covers import by 9.9 per cent, and this month the import of goods continues to be dominated by Serbia.
According to the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) in the report, December 2017, export of goods reached 29.4m euros, while import of 297.3m euros, compared to the same period in 2016, is a 20.2 per cent export increase and 9.5 per cent per import.
This same month, our country's exports with CEFTA ones reached 11.9m euros, or 40.5 per cent of total exports, which is a 0.5 per cent drop.
Key export partners from these countries are Albania at 17.7 percent, Macedonia at 9.6 percent, Serbia at 5.5 percent, and Montenegro at 5.5 percent. However, imports from CEFTA countries this month reached 79.6m euros, or 26.8 per cent of total imports, with an increase of 13.2 per cent. Serbia is the country with the highest import turnout of 15.7 percent, followed by Macedonia at 4.2 percent, Albania at 3.7 percent, and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 2.7 percent.
Kosovo has raised 6.42 billion euros from CEFTA countries since 2008. Where the main importer from these countries continues to be Serbia at 2.41 billion euros, while our country has imported goods worth 913.2m euros from Albania. In terms of Kosovo's exports to CEFTA, Dogana has collected 842.55m euros. Only from Serbia for export of Kosovo products have 181.28m euros been collected, and 285.48m euros have been collected from Albania”, Kosovo Customs spokesperson Adriatic Stavileci told Telegrafi.
As for Kosovo's exports to other countries around the world amounted to 10.6m euros, or 36.2 percent, where India as the most important export partners are 24.4 percent and Switzerland at 5.2 percent, while imports reached 79.9m euros or 26.9 percent, and countries with the highest share in this group were China 9.6 percent and Turkey for 8.5 percent.
Only from Turkey has our country for a decade imported goods worth 2.04 billion euros, while in terms of Kosovo products that have been launched towards Turkey, Dogan from their export has collected 31.86m euros.
Customs and the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK) are the main fillers of Kosovo's budget. For a decade of citizenship, these two institutions have continued to be key contributors to the collection of public money.
Kosovo Customs, for ten years since its declaration of Independence, has collected 8.45 billion euros and made up about 70 per cent of the funds collected, while ATK has collected 4.1 billion euros for the state ark.
In all, both institutions have raised 12.55 billion euros.
