The person reported today who was killed in Syria is suspected of being Betim Ibrahimaj, who was charged by the Constitutional Court in Pristina for terrorist criminal work, in case “Bavci”.
Betim Ibrahimaj is from the municipality of Istog and was one of the accused in the case of “Batovci”, along with four other people, Besnik Latifi, Gazmend Halit, Milazim Hadziaj and Ennis Latifi.
According to the indictment, the five accused in July 2015 had gone to Badovci Lake near Pristina to record a propaganda video in which they planned to read the oath to the leader of the terrorist organisation “Islamic State”, known by Short I SIS.
Similarly, Ibrahimaj had also co-operated with one of the leading leaders of Albanians in Syria, Lavdrim Mujahari, who was killed in June last year.
According to the 2015 indictment, Betim Ibrahimaj and Lavdrim Mujarır were charged with criminal acts of organisation and participation in terrorist groups, in the case of “Bavci”.
They had been dressed in ISIS uniform, where they were armed with hand grenades and knives.
In the Kosovo Police Report, Directorate Against Terrorism No. to ref. 06/1-03705-2015 of the date 01.12.2015 has been attached to evidence from the PSRK subject, PPS No. 111/2014, respectively PPS number 25/2015, which were secured during the investigation against indictees Betim Ibrahimaj for criminalisation and participation in terrorist groups by Article 143 par.2 of KPRK. From the photo documentation attached to the defendant Betim Ibrahimaj armed and dressed in I uniform SIS along with terrorist Lavdrim Mujariri as well as some photos along with defendant Gazmend Haliti, who is dressed in the uniform of I SIS and armed with hand grenades and knives”, says the indictment.
Muhharrier, a young man from Kachanic, was one of the first Kosovars to join I SIS in Syria. The path to the “land of Shami” had been discovered through Naman Demoll, another Kosovar from Pristina killed there.
