The Surgery Department at the Gjakova General Hospital “isa Grezda” on January 9th of this year submitted a request to the Board for License near the Health Ministry for the licensing of a foreign health professional.
Gjakova Hospital requested that Belgrade's surgery specialist Dr. Nenad Ivanovchevic for patient J. K. (20.11.1957) from Prizren. Dr. Ivanovchev was invited to perform the operation of the total gastrektomia (the removal of lukth), writes Schneta newspaper.
The Board for License had approved the request a week later, licensing the Serbian doctor with a 10-day commitment within the calendar year under Administrative Guide 06/2012 for licensing health professionals, non-cosovar citizens.
In the decision that the newspaper owns, the Board had charged Gjakova Hospital with responsibility in case the patient suffered any evental damage.
On January 22, Dr. Ahmet Aslan had passed it on to the Chief of the Surgery Department, Dr. Idriz Alija and Task Force Chief Dr. Fatos Hajosa.
Director Aslan says the Serbian doctor has been brought to Gjakova Hospital initially at the request of the patient, who, according to him, has not been able to travel outside Kosovo.
The request was made through the Surgery Department and everything was official. The operation has been performed with our doctors and anesthesiologists”, Aslan declares.
He adds that the hospital did not pay for Dr. Ivanovchevic, but I don't know if the family has done this. Dr. Aslan says the operation on the removal of glucose is not conducted in regional hospitals, while adding that at QKUUH “, they say they do it every time not”.
But such an operation is conducted at the Abdominal Surgery Clinic by Kosovo surgeons. The total removal of lukth is also described on the official website of the University Clinical Hospital Service.
One of the surgeons of this clinic, who does not want to be officially promoted, says 4-5 such operations take place over the year. He even claims that the removal of ukth in the QKUK was done before the war.
USKKUK Director General Dr. Basri Sejdiu. Although he says he has not been aware of the Serbian doctor's arrival, he has declared for Gaza that the removal of the lukthite is performed by surgeons of Abdominal Surgery at QKUK.
A few days before this operation was performed, Minister of Health Ura Ismaili had visited Gjakova Hospital.
He had been asked to add medical personnel, while himself had sought more responsibility from the leaders of this health institution.
