Floods in Albania, businesses worry along highway

Saturday night's shootings have returned to highway businesses with fear of flooding. Business states that although the stream in Citypark has been opened and the rainfall has been far from their level on flood day, the water level was again at the critical borders. The nearby subpass has also been flooded and its water level was about 80cm on Saturday evening.

If the root level Saturday were close to those on November 30th 2017, another flood would mark the 03/02/2018<18x1>, highway entrepreneurs say.

The work of opening the creek has just begun. What needs to be solved is the continuation of its opening across the highway to Limoth's old bridge. The latest fact shows that it is this very segment, which poses the real risk of flooding, businesses warn. Highway entrepreneurs will launch another letter of the relevant institutions (The Tirana Union of Vora, the Tirana Prefecture and the Interior Ministry) where they demand that the area be stopped flooded. Currently, they claim, we still have no water drying off the last 30 November 2017 flood, and we risk having another one. Another flood, even at low levels, means we shut down business, means a disaster for the entire area, where there are not a few businesses”. On November 30th of last year, after heavy rainfall, highways and the City Park area were flooded with serious damage to local businesses, but also citizens who were then driving on the highway. The blockade of the Limoth River was one of the reasons, while it was not clear whether the reservoirs on the highway were opened, although some photos of fish lying on the road “decompressed” claimed the reservoirs were not opened. Tirana's Prefecture set up a working group to study the situation and the solutions and expansion of the Limoth River began a few days later.
