Fidel Ángel Castro Díaz-Balart was found dead Tuesday morning, and reportedly suffered from depression.
Fidel Castro's eldest son was 68 years old while having a profession as a nuclear physicist.
He had been treated by doctors for several months because of depression, and he apparently finally took his life.
At the time of his death, he was a scientific adviser to the Cuban State Council, and he served as deputy chairman of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba.
Castro Diaz-Balart was born during his father's brief marriage to Mirta Diaz-Balart, the daughter of a prominent politician before the revolution.
His mother's family continued to become the most prominent figure in the anti-Cstro community in Florida. His cousin Mario Diaz-Balart is an American Congressman.
The TV announcement said his funeral would be planned by his family, but no further details were provided.
His father, Fidel Castro, a revolutionary figure and one of the longest political leaders in the world, died in 90 in 2016. E. D/ SYRI.net
