Family seeks Astrit Dehar body exhumation

The family of the late Vetevendosje Movement activist have demanded from the state of Kosovo a return to investigating their son's death, including the exhumation of the Astrit Dehari body.

It was MP Sami Kurteshi who delivered the family's words to the debate with the Justice Minister about the pledge to investigate Dehar's death.

According to Kurtesh, the prosecution is collecting documents to send in expertise, but according to him, this was not the family's request.

Kurteshi has said that the family has demanded that the process return to the investigative phase and this be done by an entity with global renomance.

Family requires auditing of the documents collected because the case is much more sensitive. The family wants a thorough, independent international investigation from a world-renounced institution instead of the event, until the exhumation of the body of the late Astrit Deharit. This is the family's original request, Deputy Kurteshi said in the Assembly.

Meanwhile, Minister Abelard Tahiri has said that after Haradinaj's pledge to investigate this case, he has asked the bodies responsible for starting the job.

Otherwise, Haradinaj just took over the post of government chief promised there would be international investigation into Astrit Dehar's death in prison.
