The European Commission announced today that it would be brought back in mid-March the issue of nine states considered bad EU students in the field of air pollution, while the latter threatens to bring them to European justice.
The European executive, tasked with ensuring that member states respect EU standards on emissions of polluting gases, has given Germany, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, the Czech Republic, Romania, Great Britain and Slovakia the last opportunity to hand in additional information Friday.
These nine states regularly exceed emissions limits aimed at protecting European health from dust particles or nitrogen dioxide or both, Atsh notes.
All the aforementioned member states have provided additional information, which is expected to be assessed on our part. We will return to this issue in the middle of March, a Commission spokeswoman explained.
Despite the Commission's repeated warnings, these states have not returned to allowed norms.
