A Slovak investigative journalist and his girlfriend were shot dead in their house. The murder will likely be linked to his reporting on tax evasion, the Slovak police chief, Tibor Gaspar, said Monday.
The body of 27-year-old Jan Kuciak and his partner were found on Sunday evening at their home in the town of Velka Maca, east of Bratislava.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said this is a “unprecedented press and democracy freedom attack in Slovakia”.
