Cutting forests on Kosovo territory without permission, damage for two months totals 300 thousand euros

Forests across Kosovo's territory have been cut without the authorities' permission often and have caused irreversible damage in nature. Faruk Bojaxhi, Director of Forest Management, has said that damage to forests from illegal cuts is huge.
“Illegal cuts are evident in all municipalities in Kosovo, but recently, the problem mostly lies in Ferizaj, Podujevo, as well as in the municipalities in the northern part of Mitrovica” has said Bojaxhi.
Bojaxhi for Indexline has said that for November and December the value of damage from wood cuts is nearly 300 thousand euros. And the damage to m3 according to this agency is 2250.6.
For these illegal cuts, municipalities have pronounced 701 anti-vadiator sheets, while criminal presumptions 247. For more details, see the table of the Forest Agency.
Bojaxhi has stressed that there are many problems in terms of protection of forests, as no time and correct examinations are being considered by different Kosovo courts.
