Albania's Defence Minister, Olita Xhacka, has indicated that thanks to army intervention, 15 residents who had been stranded since last evening in a van have been rescued.

Meanwhile, during today rescue teams have evacuated dozens of residents from their homes following floods caused by heavy rainfall.
