An Accidents Crossroad

Crossing the streets “Bet Rexhepi” and “Hasan Hasani”, in the village of Zabel the Low of the Drensian municipality, has become the target of accidents.

All this trouble started when the “Bate Rexhepi” street, which is a shortcut and is attached to the “Hasan Hasani” road.

The residents of this area consider that the best way to eliminate accidents would be to circle.

Faik Brahimi, residents of the Low Zabel for Kosova Prees, has declared this crossroads to be quite dangerous, and as a result of this every week is marked by accidents.

He says that around the spin would be the best way to escape accidents.

There's no such thing as God saves them, every week there are accidents, but thank God with fatality there's not yet been, just hurt yes...as we do know why they didn't do it around when there's room, there's space why it shouldn't be around because it's been a favourable place around here, here's where the police stop themselves, and they know it's got a top”, he said.

That almost every week there were accidents at this crossroads, says Arbnor Rrustemi, residents of this area, who say that one or two accidents occur within the week.

Rrustemi adds that communication signs that guide drivers on these two roads are also poorly established.

And I can say that this intersection is not exactly how it was before this main road, then they tied it to the road to the bridge, and so citizens outside the Drenas municipality don't know which is a priority which, not, the sign is but to make it difficult to see... as a citizen of this country I think the route needs a circle. Within the week there's a couple of accidents”, he said.

But according to Kosovo Police spokeswoman for the Pristina region, Flora Ahmeti from January this year until this total period in that area, including the crossroads, has scored 7 accidents.

Through e-mail, Ahmeti has indicated that the main causes leading up to accidents at the crossroads of “Bet Rexhepi” and “Hasan Hasani”, is to ignore communications signs.

In contrast, it is not until 2017 that over 16 thousand and 122 are marked, while a total of 119 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents.
