Currently, the political spectrum in Kosovo continues not to be unified in this process. Kosovo President Hashim Thaci remains the one who leads the dialogue. While the government and the opposition subject party, the Social Democrat Party have formed a negotiating team that also aims to take part in the final process of talks. Currently, outside the process, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement, which make up the largest opposition parties.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has stated that President Trump has made it clear that he is calling on Kosovo leaders, “to use this unique moment to speak with a voice” in order to reach the comprehensive agreement with Serbia.
The failure to take advantage of this unique opportunity would be a tragic setback, because another potentially comprehensive peaceful agreement, can hardly be repeated for a long time”, Thaci has indicated.
While Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has declared that he strongly supports any effort to unify the positions of the political spectrum and quick preparations for wrapping up the legally binding and mutually recognised agreement between the two states, Kosovo and Serbia.
Similarly, Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veselini has said that the letter US President Donald Trump sent to President Thaci's address is a clear supportive message for Kosovo and its citizenship. So he has invited the entire political spectrum in Kosovo to understand President Trump's letter directly.
