Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said he will not fall under international pressure to resume talks with Kosovo unless the latter removes the tax on Serbian goods.
Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia has been blocked this year as a result of issues such as border review, the establishment of the Kosovo Army, Serbia's refusal to recognise Kosovo as a state, and as a consequence of the blockade of Serbian goods in November. US President Donald Trump sent letters to both Vuciqi and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, urging them to reach an agreement.
There's no power in the world, no one in the world, who can force me to talk about something until the taxes are done. Not even the personal call of Trump”, Vuciqi said before reporters today, reports “Bloomberg”.
The US news agency also writes that Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said his state would increase the military budget for next year by 35 per cent to $919m for “prepared against any possible danger, because in the Balkans we don't have a few risks”, Time.net broadcasts.
Vucinqi has warned that Serbia will react to Serbs in Kosovo if they are attacked.
