According to one recent study, people who tend to eat nails tend to be perfectionists. Although it is a bad habit, people eat their nails because they never get enough, so they get very easily bored. 48 persons from this study attended, 24 of whom had repeated fingernails, and 24 did not have one.
A research in Montreal says:
“We believe that people with these repeated behaviors can be perfectionists, which means they are not able to relax and perform the task at a normal pace”.
As Kyeron O'Connor shows: “Therefore, they are prone to disappointment, impatience and discontent when they fail to achieve their goals. They also experience higher levels of boredom”.
