A visit to the doctor's office or to the hospital is supposed to help restore your health to a healthy state after illness. But by the very nature of the hospital environments, they are filled with people who are sick, and there are many viruses and germs. For this reason, moving them from one person to another through stethoscope is a serious concern.
Stetoscope
According to a study in which 401 stethoscopes were analyzed, it has resulted in a considerable and varied number of bacteria. More than half contained Staphiloccus aureus, an embryo that could cause serious and potentially fatal infections.
Using bacteria from stethoscope
The study does not mean that any patient with contact with stethoscope will be covered by germs. However, everything depends on how medical instruments are used and cleaned after use.
Dr. Colman, one of the authors of the study, says that it is important that people not be concerned about this news and that there is no reason to avoid a doctor or a hospital. But it's a good memory, he says to health care professionals and patients-that the proper standards of disinfection and infection control are critical and must be implemented at any facility.
He also points out that when hospital patients have a known infection that can be transmitted to others, it is common practice for doctors to use one stethoscope.
