The deceased, George H.W. Bush, father of the other former president, George W. Bush, had told Trump he would miss his inauguration as president because of poor health.
This is the letter:
Dear Donald,
Barbara and I are very sorry that we cannot participate in your inauguration on January 20. The doctor told me that staying outside in January probably takes me to the grave. She told Barbara the same thing. So we stay in Texas.

Any good,
George
