Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq at a two-hour meeting with Commissioner Johannes Hahn, who had him in Belgrade on Monday, refused the ultimatum for the Serbian side that he must do something for Pristina to return to the negotiating table.
So writes the Belgrade Blic newspaper in today's issue.
“Vuccic has firmly declared there is no return to talks until the tax decision on goods from Serbia is withdrawn. He said: “only then we can speak”, the paper reports.
Also reportedly at the meeting the head of the Serbian state has shown the Brussels agreement to Hahni and has asked him what exactly Serbia in this document has not fulfilled when it comes to energy and when it comes to all other areas, Blitz has told a source that had the details of the meeting.
The document emphasises that Hahn at the meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has said taxes are unacceptable and that “Pristina will suffer serious consequences because of them”, deankosova broadcasts.
The commissioner said he was very angry that Kosovo authorities who do not respect the agreement and that they are doing everything in themselves.
Hahn has asked the Kosovo side yesterday to remove the 100 per cent tax on products originating from Serbia.
The European Commissioner for Business Policy and Enlargement Negotia has also confirmed in Pristina that the issue of visa liberalisation for Kosovars will not happen this year, but has cited 2020 as the potential date for abolishing the visa regime for Kosovo.
