President Venezuelala Nicolas Maduro announced today in Moscow, where he is located, that Russia will invest six billion dollars in the oil and mining sector in Venezuela, a country designated by a deep economic crisis.
These two days have been intense (...) We received guarantees for an investment of more than five billion dollars in the oil sector and contracts on a billion dollars in terms of export of minerals”, Maduro told state television Venezuelalas VTV.
Launched Monday evening for Moscow, after awaiting his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayip Erdogan in Caracas, Maduro seeks to get allied support about a month away from the end of his second term, while facing a isolation from most of the international community.
