Longtime health experts have indicated that red wine (when consumed in modest amounts, normally) can bring positive effects on our health. Like red wine, for example, reduces the levels of colsterol, reduces the risk of heart disease, and contributes to memory when we enter old age.
In addition, however, a new study now suggests that red wine also improves fertility in women, transmitsgraphy.
Researchers at the University of Washington in St. Louis, Missouri, have found that women who consume at least one glass of wine a week have better uses to get pregnant than those who do not consume.
This could be because of the presence of the antioxidant resveratrol which is found in red grapes and is also acting as a powerful anti-aging ingredient.
The authors of this study have surveyed 135 women between 18 and 44 years of age, urging them to take notes about how much alcohol they consume each month.
During the same period, women were subjected to regular ultrasound scans to see how many healthy eggs they had had.
Women who had consumed five glasses of wine over a month had been inclined to have more healthy eggs, despite other factors such as age and income.
It is important, however, that these findings be treated carefully because only a few people have been studied for this conclusion.
