Agnes Haxhiu, researchers and monitoring the work of the Parliament by the Kosovo Democratic Institute, said KDI has proposed certain recommendations in order to improve performance and efficiency at work.
“The Assembly must restore the practice of holding sessions on Thursday, eventually on Friday, as provided with the Labour Rule, so parliamentary commissions can be given space to hold their meetings on other days. This would reduce the possibility of failure, whether of committee hearings or meetings and of collecting issues that must be considered”, Haxhi said.
The Assembly hearings in many cases have failed due to the lack of deputies. KDI has recommended that the Kuved Job Adjust be met so that these shortages are sanctioned. Also, the Assembly is required to increase transparency.
“KDI invites Kosovo's Assembly to publish spending reports in time, as well as to provide details on the spending and purposes of visiting MPs abroad”, Haxhiu stressed.
