Through a Facebook post, Tahiri has been addressed to judges on the occasion of marking the Annual Judiciary Conference, where he has mentioned some major achievements during the next year, such as raising budgets and investing in the judiciary, enabling the addition of judicial and administrative staff, with the goal of increasing efficiency in justice.
He has also mentioned the sound dialogue that has been placed between the institutions of rule of law, through common agenda “Justice 2020”, as a co-ordination mechanism that will end the transition to this sector. In his post, Tahiri has stressed that there is still much work to be done to protect public interest and convert citizens to institutions of justice.
The next “the year we are leaving behind was a significant year for the judiciary in many ways. I am happy that I have managed to help the dialogue on increasing the KGG budget, increase the number of professional collaborators, and increase investments in the judiciary.
I'm also very grateful for the dialogue that we have built under the administration “Justice 2020”, as a co-ordination mechanism that with concrete measures will end transition to justice.
However, we still have much work ahead of ourselves. New laws that have been adopted require effective implementation, require fighting organised crime and corruption, protecting beacons exposing damage to public interest, rapid emergency resolution, and, above all, confiscating illegal property fields in which, of course, the judiciary has the exact role of”, wrote Tahiri.
The minister has written that he has asked the judges for greater commitment to the protection of legitimacy and effective implementation of justice.
At the Annual Court Conference, I encouraged judges for even greater commitment to protect legitimacy, effective justice, transparency, accountability and, above all, complete independence. I believe in the work of the judiciary and invite judges to influence every day their work as a fact, on which all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo” believe, Tahiri wrote at the end.
