Johannes Hahn at the conference: All in the EU were surprised when Kosovo imposed the tax

Hahn, after Serbia, is visiting Kosovo, where he has met Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and Prime Minister Kadri Veseli.

Hahn has said this decision is disturbing, since trade is underdeveloped in the Balkans.

We were surprised and disappointed when customs fees were imposed, once 10 percent and then 100 percent. We need to focus on other areas. All in the EU are aware of the current trade difficulties. The two countries need to address these issues”, Hahn said at the conference in Pristina, where he appeared alone.

Hahn also mentioned economic difficulties in the region, saying in a lack of perspective, the whole brain is escaping.

According to him, the EU is aiming to improve the economic situation in the region, to stop unhindered migration from the Balkans.

THE entire brain is leaving the region because of economic difficulties. We intend to improve the economy, but these things should start here, not in Japan or elsewhere”, he said. /Periscopi/
