The government and main financial markets centres will be closed Wednesday, in honour of the death of the late former president, George H.W. Bush. National mourning day will be marked with the closure of markets “York Stock Exchange” and “Nasdaq”.
The staff of these markets will also keep a minute of silence at 9 and 20 minutes Wednesday in honour of former President Bush. State reserve chief Jerome Powell is expected to deliver a farewell address to the Economic Council.
George H.W. Bush passed away on November 30, 2018. He was the 41st president of the United States of America and a great friend of Albanians. Bush was the first international politician to have threatened Serbia with US military intervention in Kosovo in 1992. He will be remembered for his country's release from the Cold War, writes “Reuters”.
