One or two portions of spinach, lettuce and salad can renew your brain for 11 years and prevent damage.
A recent study revealed that people who eat at least one such portion each day have a lower degree of error in memory tests and think better than those who never or rarely eat vegetables.
If you add green vegetables to your daily diet, leaf vegetables will simply extend brain health in a simple way”, explains Martha Claire Morris, of Roche University in Chicago.
The research, published in Neurology magazine, was conducted in a sample of 960 people of the average age of 81, who had no delinquency.
Their monitoring lasted 10 years and found that aging those who ate more green vegetables was slower for 0.05 standardised units annually compared to those who ate less green vegetables, and that is the same as 11-year-old changes in brain age.
Professor Morris states that many other factors affecting brain health, such as smoking, high blood pressure, overweight, education, and physical and cosmetic activity, have been considered.
Research was also conducted in a predominantly old population consisting mainly of white people, and the results were not applicable to young people and people of another race.
