Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Cameron Gashi has signed the regulation for classification of sports and regulation for categories of athletes and trainers.
These two rating documents define rules, criteria and procedures for classification of sports, athletes and trainers in the Republic of Kosovo.
In all, the regulation for classification of sports defines the way of classifying sports, sharing sports in groups, criteria for classifying sports and complaining procedures.
According to this regulation, sports in the Republic of Kosovo are divided into four groups, divided into “A” to “D”, and these groups include federations based on the collection of points. The “A “, which includes among the federations that have collected 70 points and more, group “B”, 50 à 69,99, points, at “C” entering federations that reach 30 HINA 49,99 points and the last group <x10D>”, includes federations that have accumulated to 29,99 points.
The regulation also defines the criteria for classification of federations. The national federations, which organise international competitions within the year, will receive a 10-point bonus and 5 points if they organise any European or world championships, while they will have a bonus if they organise any regional competitions (Balkan champions).
Federations are also subjected to international competition successes if they manage to win medals. Details are explained in regulations.
Minister Kujtim Gashi said these regulations enable the ease of sports management in the country and avoid the eventual qualms of sports federations.
The process of classification of sports and athletes, regulated through these regulations, aims to promote national federation management to engage and focus even more so that through appropriate actions, it will increase the quality and presentation of athletes and the most successful distribution of sports.
While the regulation for categories of athletes and trainers stipulates that these categories should be members of national federations recognised by the Kosovo Olympic Committee and licensed in the MKRS. As the main criteria for classifying athletes and trainers are medals won at Olympic and Paralympic Games, world, European, Mediterranean and Balkan championships. The regulation also defines criteria for classifying young athletes as well as calling from athletes and trainers.
