Austrian diplomat says Brussels should organise a Greater Conference which would invite the competents of Pristina and Belgrade, who would negotiate without deadlines until the final reconciliation for the final solution, and the closure of this conference.
Wolfgang Petritsch has been chief of Austrian Diplomacy, and senior European Union diplomat (BE), one of Kosovo's independence friends, and lobbyists of this idea for years. On Tuesday, he has provided an idea for Brussels, which would promote a faster dynamic in resolving the problem with the recognition of Kosovo by Serbia.
“At this moment a major commitment is needed to resolve the Kosovo issue, and the idea is for Brussels to consider organising a conference that, with the participation of representatives of Pristina and Belgrade, would last, day and night until a final solution” is found, Petritsch told the Tanjug news agency.
On the contrary, negotiations between Presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vucic would last too long due to EU problems and national elections of member states. Experienced diplomat Petritsch has said that delays in frozen conflicts are not preferred to stay long, because world experiences tell us they know how to escape in armed conflicts, the newspaperotro.net forwards.
The idea would be that such a conference would be organised before these elections in EU countries, and that before Chief Diplomat Frederica Moghrini wraps up her mandate in Brussels, he concluded Petritsch, who explained that even the re-election of someone other than Mogher would take extra time.
