The map of a platform and its approval by Kosovo's Assembly is considered a “cella” for the continuation of Kosovo talks, Serbia. But after the entire period of suspension of talks, new names and proposals are emerging, under the argument that they are the right ones to continue talks with the Serbian state.
One of the names being coveted is Social Democrat Party Chairman Shpend Ahmeti. At least this is what has been discussed in recent days, where Ahmeti is expected to come to the helm of the negotiating team himself.
Political analyst Ramush Tahiri has indicated that there are already only signs of the Haradinaj Government's co-operation with the Social Democrat Party.
Tahiri has stressed that this has been observed with participation in plenary sessions, making the numbers in the Assembly and also voting certain laws.
“Shpend Ahmeti and Kosovo's Social Democratic Party have shown signs of co-operation with the Haradinaj government and the ruling coalition by participating in the Parliament's plenary sessions, making the numbers of quorum and voting for the proposed” laws, Tahiri has said.
All of this is continuing to make Kosovo's negotiating platform with Serbia, where they have reached consensus.
“... making the platform of Kosovo's talks with Serbia in which they have envisioned consensus on decision making, as well as the consensus referendum on the agreement and also have offered co-governance on the Unity Team proposing one of the positions, one of the opposition and one of the civil society that concreteizes on the Limaj-Ahmeti-Surroi personalities... that the PSD explains as the realisation of its party programme, contribution to Kosovo and fortunate solutions to dialogue and normalisation of relations with Serbia” has said Tahiri in his proposal for the Indeconcline.
But, analyst and political development connoisseur Donik Sallova is not considering Ahmet as politically creditive.
He has indicated that even the party Ahmeti leads has not come out of the electorate's vote, but from the vote of the Vetevendosje electorate.
“I believe that Shpend Ahmeti is not politically indebted to represent Kosovo in the negotiations, because the first as a party and as a parliamentary group have not emerged from the PSD electorate vote, but from the VV electorate vote”, Sallova said.
That Shpend Ahmeti is even viewing as inexperienced in national governance or political experience related to negotiations.
Also, Ahmeti does not have any experience in national governance or political experience related to negotiations, so even professional legitimacy, I think, lacks”, Sallova said.
On the other hand, Ahmeti's entire attempt to become part of the negotiating team, Salova is seeing it as the person's attempt in question to lay the basis for future political co-operation with the AAK and Initiative.
The Democratic League of Kosovo and Vetevendosje are not seeing the creation of a nogociator team as considering that the current government has lost its legitimacy.
Even if these two parties, or at least one of them, do not get involved in negotiations, it cannot be considered a unity team.
Without the involvement of the LDK and VV in negotiations, or at least one of them, it cannot be considered that the negotiating team is fully inclusive” has ended Salova.
Otherwise, so far the one who has led the talks with Serbia has been President Hashim Thaci himself, who no longer has the mandate from the Kosovo Assembly to lead the talks. All of this has come as a result of President Thaci's idea of mending or changing the border. The idea that is not supported by any of the political spectrum.
