Sadiku, along with her coach, Besim Brahimi and international judge, Latif Demolli, has had to head towards New Delhi today, where the opening ceremony is being held. It has so far not received a visa to go to India, while this is the second time because even last year India, which does not recognise the state of Kosovo, did not give up its visa, making it impossible for it to participate in the junior world.
I am constantly training and have not yet lost hope. If they don't give me a visa, I'll be deeply depressed, since it's the second time I've had the same problem<x1... “I am well prepared and if I attend I believe in medals. This race would help me with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Lost two such championships is a great despair”.
The Kosovo issue at the World Boxing Championship has become world news. As the government of India does give Sadik a visa, even though it is equipped with Albania's passport, the International Olympic Committee of the Box Federation of India is involved in the debate.
India's Olympic Committee has asked the country's Sport Ministry to give visas to the Kosovo team, warning the government that if Kosovo's participation fails, then other international organisations from India are at risk.
A year's Donjet Sadiku has been preparing for this world, which is the most important and worthy competition for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
