The wife and former partner were abolished on charges of killing a child after being found tied to a bed “kafaz”, but convicted of her death.
Lauren Coyle, 19, and Reece Hitchcott, 20, were found guilty of the death of 19-month-old daughter Coyle Ellie-May.
The jury found them guilty of causing or allowing the girl's death and of the charge of cruelty to children.
Ellie-May was found dead at the couple's home in Preston, Lancashire in Britain on March 23rd of last year.
At the Court, it was heard that the baby's purple bed in the two-bedroom apartment was “turned into a” cage.
The girl was not even allowed to watch while holding on to her wrists, reports the Ora News.
Brett Gerrit, from the Prosecutor's Service, said:
This is a tragic case in which a young and innocent child has been treated in the worst way by those who should take care of it”.
“During the trial the prosecution confirmed that, limiting Ellie-May to her bed, Lauren Coyle and Reece Hitchcott deliberately contributed or directly caused the daughter's premature death of”.
