US President Donald Trump has offered State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert, the role of the new US ambassador to the UN.
It is not yet clear whether she has accepted the offer to replace Nikki Haley, who is a fugitive ambassador.

South Carolina's former governor, Haley, has held significant positions in Trump's cabinet and is seen as diplomat, who has dispelled doubts about the lack of credentials in foreign policy issues.

Her diplomatic work, at least publicly, has sent Trump's approach to foreign policy at Security Council meetings.
