Albania, Kosovo with joint hydropower plant in Dragas area

Albania, Kosovo and the European Union will be the co-financers of building a hydropower plant with a capacity of 200 megawatts. Energy project scheduled to build on Albania triangle -Kosovo-Macedonia, the Dragas area. The “Ide for building a joint hydropower plant with Albania is actually close to approval and starting. The EU will finance 20m euros grant to Albania and 20m euros grant to Kosovo for the construction of a hydropower plant that would serve energy balance needs for both countries. Hydro power plant expected to be built on Kosovo- Albania-Macedonia between Dragas and Prizren. That part is an extremely good potential for a 200 megawatt capacity plant, and this would normally serve both countries”, Minister Valdrin Luka has declared.
Construction of hydropower plants for renewable energy production has already turned into a global problem, but more Balkans, where more than 3,000 hydropower plants are under construction.
