Archaeologists have discovered a treasure of 2,000 gold and silver coins aboard a sinking ship on the Danube since the 20th century. VIII and found thanks to low water levels in the river.
“Around 2000 coins have been found, as well as weapons, spears, cannon cannon cannons, swords and other weapons”, MTI agency Catalin Kovacs, museum archaeologist “Fenczy de Szentendre”, near Budapest.
The discovery took place this week in Erd, south of Budapest, where archaeologists were working with high intensity today to extract the maximum elements before the water level rose again.
Erd's “Thessari was found aboard the relics of a commercial nationality ship whose nationality has yet to be determined”, archaeologists reported.
It consists of gold and silver coins, including dukes and penny. The coins are 90% foreign and correspond to 1630-1743”, archaeologist Balazs Nagy stressed for private radio “Klub”.
