Tires of 5m-euro drug seizures arrested two Albanians

In Brinds, Italy, a tire of 557kg of cannabis has been seized. Two Albanians, aged 32 and 27, reportedly have fallen into handcuffs.

Traffickers were spotted by Italian authorities, who, in co-operation with FRONTEX, launched the operation by following the gomone at sea. Albanians tried to escape, but the maneuvers resulted in failures, as they were finally blocked by a grip.

The seized cannabis was divided into 24 packets of different amounts, while if the value was to be thrown into the Italian market, it is projected to reach up to 5m euros.

Since the beginning of 2018, 39 smugglers have been arrested, more than 16 tonnes of marijuana and 16 scans have been seized.
