The accused of war crimes against Albanian civilians in the province of Fushe Kosovo, Skender Bislimi, has been convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Constitutional Court in Pristina.

The announcement of judgment on Bislimi is made today by the chairman of the court of Arben Hoti.

The prosecution, in the indictment, claims that Bislimi along with ten other people, in the spring of 1999, set up a checkpoint at the crossroads of Fushe-Kosovo, where they abused Albanians who had been expelled from their homes three days after NATO launched the bombing campaign.

For crimes in Fushe-Kosovo for which Bislimi is accused so far, the court has sentenced one person.

Ivan Radivojevic has been sentenced to eight years in prison for those events.

According to the prosecution, Bislimi in co-ordination with now tried Ivan Radivojevic, were members of a Serb paramilitary group, which on March 26th 1999 at the Bus station in Fushesh-Kosovo surrounded Albanian civilians, separated women and children from men and started beating and torturing men.

Always according to the prosecution's claims, some of the men have been forced into a military vehicle and then shipped in an unknown direction.

Bislimi was arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina in August this year, on the basis of an international arrest sheet issued by a EULEX judge in Pristina on 13 February 2013.

Just according to PSRK's request, Skender Bislimi was extradited to Kosovo on December 9, 2016.

Bislimi himself, according to the decision to appoint detention, at the session held for the deployment of the security measure has denied the prosecutor's claims.

At the time when the prosecution claims events happened I was in Mladenov at my daughter's Fushe-Kosovo”, Bislimi said at the security measure session. /Cashho. com/
