Projection of 106-year-old doctor not to surrender

Putting on his favorite tie, Dr. A. William Frankland, sits on his armchair and tells us his life story, which Hollywood producers can only dream of. He was born a twin in 1912, started medical school in 1930, and held a military post during [...]

He was born a twin in 1912, started medical school in 1930, and held a military post during World War II, resulting in his imprisonment for three years.

After the war, he studied under the leadership of Alexander Fleming, the man who discovered penicillin.

Then he became an allergic doctor and developed a system to help people see what caused them to allergies.

All of this happened in the '50s, and in honour of him, the Alliance Clinic in London was named after him.

I tell him it's just a matter of luck, nothing more.

Franklin, though 106 years old, still consults with patients and contributes to articles on journalism.

He loves to read medical journals and to be a step with the field he helped create.

At this point in his life, he still had half a century of career to do.

I'm often asked how you've lived this long”, he says.

And I tell them it's just a matter of luck, nothing more.

Franklin, although 106 years old, still consults patients and contributes to articles on journalism.

He loves to read medical journals and to be a step with the field he helped create.

This was a very unique experience, Watkins said, and I think very few people will have the privilege of doing it, even Dr. Frankland, for this wonderful long life, in which he has seen many changes, many challenges and has gone through wonderful experiences, which many of us can't understand neither can we understand”.

Besides life expectancy, what defines Farnland is its mind.

Now he is writing a letter on how penicillin was discovered, based on his time on Fleming.

He accepts the sadness and main points he has spent over the years, but he chooses to swallow negative memories and experienced fears, focusing only on happiness.

The memories of his life remain alive. He even remembers his third birthday when he enjoyed a lot of dessert, but I ended up sick.

I am so interested not only in the present and the future, but in particular I think of the past. And it's good to see again some nice trips you've made”, Frankland said.

In 1953, at St. Mary's Hospital in London, Frankland popularized the number of diapers already used worldwide to help doctors and patients to understand what the allergic causes them.

I've caused (ana·phyaxys) acutely for myself by an insect”. Nowadays it wouldn't be allowable to such an experiment, but I was determined to find out how I reacted to mosquitoes, fleas, or any kind of bite from any insect”, he explained.

Research by his institute relates to the symptoms of chicken fevers in the pollen, changing the meaning of the whole situation.

This car has contributed to his field, since he has returned to 100, he has gone to several publishing articles.

I wrote four articles between the ages of 100 and 105. Two of them are solos, and the others are multiple authors, but now I'm 106 years old, I'm going to write one more and it's almost finished”.

Aging has one aspect of a decline in mental ability over time - the greatest fear of many. Keeping the mind active and engaged at the end of life can help regeneration brain cells and nerve connections.

When you get older, there are some things you can't do. I am very old, but I will certainly keep my brain active by reading scientific magazines, even the British Medical Journal, once a week: Frankland said.

In 2015, at the age of 103, Frankland was ordered by the British Empire for its significant contribution to allergic research. So how did he do all these years?

I think what helps me is that in case I lead a sensitive life, don't smoke or consume too much, you get some exercise. It stays energetic for whatever you're doing, whether it's psychological or emotional. Use these things in your direction”
