The budget for increasing the salaries of the Kosovo Police and firefighters was discussed today at the Kosovo Commission for Internal Affairs, Security and Security Supervision.
Minister of Internal Affairs Bejtush Gashi said they are in the process for these issues, trying to secure means for raising wages for these servants.
At today's meeting, the minister was also asked about the KP's early retirement law, where he declared they are in the process of creating preconditions for implementing this law.
“We are in the process of raising wages. Early retirement requires a budget, we are in the process of creating preconditions to implement this law and move into a new phase. If this law is passed, the age for Kosovo police is likely to be standardised. The fire department is under discussion for the budget. We are looking for a budget to enable us to find an adequate solution for the possibility of responding to demands”, he said.
He said the law is ready and will insist it is passed within this year. Meanwhile, he did not show for the cost that is required but said it is not affordable.
The minister was also asked about President Hashim Thaci's visit to the country's north, where he said every visit within the territory is under the authority of the president.
