The head of NATO's liaison office in Serbia, Cesar Marineli, has said NATO troops will not withdraw from Kosovo, nor will they reduce the number of soldiers.
He has also spoken of transforming the Kosovo Security Force into the Kosovo Army, it has suggested that such a thing is a very difficult political issue, reports Express.
When it comes to the Kosovo Security Force, we accept them in the current mandate. If there are changes, they should be discussed at the level of the North Atlantic Council”, Marineli has said, as he was asked about the recent moves made by the Kosovo Assembly for the formation of the Kosovo Army.
Marinel made these statements in an interview for Wojce of America, until he also told of the discussions between him, Alexander Vucciqi and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
He has said they have continued discussions with Vucinqi, and stresses they have different positions on certain topics.
Marineli has also talked about dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, saying NATO supports continuing dialogue between the two states and also efforts to reduce tensions and resolve misunderstandings.
