The duo reportedly met at the “Russia Sports Place” forum in the town of Ullanovsk on Wednesday, Periscopi broadcasts.
The meeting photo showed Nurmagomedov, his father and coach Abdulmanap, conversing with Putin at a table of tea and various foods.
Putin praised the UFC's invincible champion for the victory and also urged his father not to punish his son “strictly” for the scenes that followed after the end of the war, when Nurmagomedov joined the crowd to confront members of the McGregor team.
