Hoxhaj: If liberalisation doesn't happen this year, we have no reason to trust Europe for nothing.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj, if visa liberalisation does not happen for Kosovars by the end of 2018, Kosovo will trust Europe anymore.

At Express Interview on KTV, Hoxhaj has said that Kosovo has fulfilled even more criteria than other countries that already have visa liberalisation.

If there is no positive decision, we have no reason to trust Europe for any single and possible thing because we've done our jobs”, he said.

On the other hand, he has said Kosovo President Hashim Thaci should be the one representing the country at the meeting with the Serb side when the Serbian president is on the table, but has added that the Assembly should have a key role in the dialogue process.

According to him, the resolution proposed by the ruling coalition provides clear answers to the idea of mending borders or exchanging territories. He has said that in the resolution it clearly states that the <x0 limit, Kosovo's integrity is invulnerable”.

He has said that today's meeting between the ruling coalition partners and part of the opposition is the new phase for the country. According to him, all are in agreement for the Parliament to have its role in dialogue and for the country's interests all must join.

According to Hoxhaj, dialogue with Serbia should be defined and there should be definition of topics. He has said dialogue must definitely be closed with mutual recognition and there will be other points of discussion.

What the president is saying is his attitude. He was elected by the Parliament votes. There is constitutional mandate, but in a more real plan we should have legal obligations with Serbia, with the main mutual recognition point. We don't have to sit down without such a point. The next point is cooperation. We have a limit of over 400 miles [400 km], and we have business interests and others. It's the question of the dead, the war damage, the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. The fourth element could be demarcation of the border. The debate should not focus on a dimension of the agreement, but it should include all elements. We must sign the agreement as a negotiating team with the Parliament and Serbia's team”, he has said at Express Interview at KTV.

Hoxhaj has called on the LDK and the VV that missed today's meeting to sit together to reach a consensus. According to him, when major policies are led responsible is the government, but also the opposition.

He has added that the president of Kosovo in the dialogue is exercising the role it has with the Constitution.

The president is not aiming to assume role, exercising the role of the Constitution. The constitution says it leads foreign policy. Dialogue is foreign policy.
