In a post on the social Twitter network, she wrote that “threats and persistent intimidation of Kosovo Serbs and other minorities in the Kosovo Security Force harm all. Echoing the American diplomat's stance, German Ambassador to Kosovo Christian Heldt wrote that “this proves one thing; integration into the Kosovo Security Force has improved to the extent that some people have felt the need to undermine these efforts. The Security Force has our full support to prove multiethnic work, rather than intimidation”, he wrote.

Earlier this week in the backyard of a member of the Security Force from the ranks of the Bosniak community in northern Mitrovica, an explosive device had been found, which left the forces of order. Although it is not said what potential motives and authors may be of this incident, it is seen as part of the pressure on minority members to abandon the Security Force.
More than 70 members of the Serb community have abandoned the Security Force due to pressure from Belgrade.
Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq appealed publicly to members of the Serb community who, as “said, do not participate in the formation of the Kosovo Army, because that army is forming it, for nothing else, but only for those Serbs to use one day to shoot at other Serbs. I urge Serbs to in no way help them in that dirty work, with which they even violate their Constitution, which has no meaning for us and which we do not accept”, he said.
On 18 October, Kosovo's parliament adopted in principle bills for expanding the responsibilities of the Security Force, avoiding constitutional changes to its becoming Kosovo military, changes that were impossible because of Belgrade and Serbian MPs' opposition.
Serbia continues to oppose Kosovo's independence, but is involved in a process of talks on normalising relations, which is a condition for the integration of both sides into the European Union.
