German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said he commits the minimum wage to increase more in the future and to be 12 euros for an hour's work.
The latest growth has affected more than 2 million people, Reuters estimates.
According to the German Statistics Office, about 1.4 million people received a minimum in April last year, while another 800,000 people won less than minimum.
